The concept of Moving gallery as developed by curator Alex Breeze was simply to create an open-entry gallery not bound by walls, which could move around disused space as it became available. The first exhibitions took place in 2012 and was originally located at Newcastle Arts Centre in Newcastle, The Coroners Office, Quayside, Bar Loco, Sunderland and finally to Fawcett Street in Sunderland.
